It is getting more and more difficult to get a job during grape picking season in France. The reasons for this is that producers hire local people more easily, and they also use machines. The grape picking season is September/October in all French regions (Alsace, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Champagne, Côtes du Rhône, Pays de la Loire, Provence).

Here are a few tips to help you find a grape picking job in France.

The website of the French National Agency for the Unemployed (ANPE) will offer job ads for grape picking from August (Check « Opportunités »): www.anpe.fr

Jeunesse et reconstruction is an association that helps young people find a job as grape pickers in Champagne (East) and in Beaujolais (South-East). You have to be 18 years old and pay a 35€ fee. Salaries may vary (between about 30 to 40€ by day).
